A need for change

Doha-based Q-Explorer is dedicated to helping visitors explore and understand the unique history of the country as well as experience it’s breathtaking natural surroundings.

While the home-grown, Qatari organization specializes in accommodating high-profile guests, they also offer services publicly to tourists and business visitors. When FIFA chose Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup, Q-Explorer wanted to expand their reach to all of the teams and fans that would be attending, and let the broader public know more about their service offerings.

Q-Explorer also felt like the general idea that their online presence communicated to the public did not properly inform target demographics about who they were and what their company was about.

Innovation empowers expertise

In the months leading up to the opening of World Cup 2022, Q-Explorer partnered with a team of Up n Up web developers to completely overhaul their website and entire brand’s visual identity.

The main goal at first was to refresh the look and feel of the website’s user experience. Making it easy for a broader audience to navigate would accommodate the diverse teams and crowds planning to attend Qatar’s World Cup. This required some additional planning, as Q-Explorer’s previous brand materials were substantially outdated by this point.

An updated brand guide was developed to set the foundation for changes to the company’s visual identity and communication style. Care was taken to conserve the company’s core identity and prevent any jarring disconnection between their old identity and the new.

The team also determined that it would also be possible to add new functionality for allowing visitors to book tours and trips directly online. Not only would this help Q-Explorer connect with the large crowds attending the World Cup, it would streamline the booking process for their regular clientele of elite guests, business leaders, and world travelers.

Q-Explorer’s new client booking experience and website not only allow easy online arrangement of tours and adventure packages, they centralize a guest’s entire travel planning process. From arranging luxury car rentals to booking stays at Qatar’s finest hotels and scheduling private services like jets, cruises, limousines, and more.

For Q-Explorer, the e-commerce functionality resulted in a surge of new bookings with reduced errors and confusion than their previous system of phone-based booking. Less staff time spent on booking combines with automated email communication and marketing via their new CRM integration to reduce workloads and overhead expenses throughout the organization.
